OS X will now download the most recent version of OS X. In the drive selection window, choose the current OS X drive (which you just erased) in most cases, it’s the only available drive. Now we’re going to reinstall OS X, in the OS X Utilities window, select “Reinstall OS X” and click “Continue” and then follow the on-screen instructions. Your drive will now fully be erased, when this is complete you can close the Disk Utility window.

Then select your hard drive in the column (Macintosh HD hard drive), click on the ‘second’ drive that jumps out to the right, then click on ‘Delete’ in the toolbarĬhoose ‘Mac OS Extended (Journaled)’ in the ‘Structure’ menu, choose ‘GUID Partition Layout’ if necessary, enter a name (you can keep the same name if necessary) and click on ‘Clear’. Then choose ‘Disk Utility’ from the menu bar or in the resulting window and click ‘Continue’. Make sure you have a working Wi-Fi connection, click on the Wi-Fi icon at the top and connect to a network.

Clutter from the previous installation will be erased and you start from a completely new beginning.
